The Year of Arabian Nights Announced by the Silk Road Literature Anthology

Poetryzine Magazine presents the Year of Arabian Nights by Ashraf Aboul-Yazid

Arabian Nights is a literary work inspired the world's creators, whether they were poets, novelists, painters, or film, theater makers and music composers. It is a world that mixes history and legend, a space to travel between illusion and reality.

40 days ago I asked world poets: “Have you read the Nights, or just some of its tales? Have you thought about expressing your admiration or discontent with them? Have you thought of writing a poem about Arabian Nights; characters, heroes, narrator, and the paths of their women and men?”

I also requested them to “be Scheherazade or Dunyazad, act as Shahryar or Shah Zaman, do as Aladdin or Ali Baba, create your own poetic nights” This was the theme for the new issue of the Silk Road Literature Series Anthology. Being the coordinator of the World Poetry Movement in Egypt, these publications will be a part of activities raised by the WPM in Egypt.

Earlier in 2021, in the Silk Road Literature Anthology, world poets presented in the first issue (Asia Sings), they excelled in the second issue (Mediterranean Waves), and they shined in the third issue (Ancient Egyptians, Modern Poets). Finally 140 poets are gathering, from more than 40 countries in the fourth issue (Arabian Nights, World Poems).

I announced the year 2022 to be the year of Arabian Nights! 10 Books will be monthly produced, starting from January 15, to October 15, 2022. In November 2022, a volume of 1001 pages will have the full collections of ten books. The first part of “Arabian Nights. World Poems”, in two weeks!
