Many of us become jokers
And many of us become joked.
After being joked, we give up
On being jokers
Knowing the feeling of being mocked
And underneath that smile
We would have a bitter tear
That shows our weakness.
The poem Jokers delves into the complex dynamics of humor and vulnerability. Through concise yet powerful language, the poet explores the dual roles individuals often find themselves in: as both jokers and the subjects of jokes. The poem reflects on the experience of being mocked and how it can lead to a relinquishment of one's own sense of humor. The juxtaposition of a smile masking inner turmoil effectively conveys the underlying bitterness and vulnerability that accompanies being the object of ridicule. Overall, the poem offers a poignant reflection on the fragility of human emotions and the masks we wear to conceal our vulnerabilities.
