NAME

There is a name that I drink

Half solar alcohol, half secret water

There's a name that I scream

Mixed in the bustle of the others

There is a name that I caress

Piece of forest

Warm and persistent

There is a name

River, sweet arrow and sweat.

A name

that devours

my name.

Nothing knew your body

The moon emerged in a sky

barely divisible

from the dark waters.

Its appearance

agitated the bowels of the ocean.

A name began

to be murmured

hidden

in the murmur of the waves

Nothing knew

your body lying on the sand,

near the shore

being brushed by the salty humidity.

Nothing knew

your body

and yet,

it changed the rhythm

of the waves.

NOTHING KNEW YOUR BODY

The moon emerged in a sky

barely divisible

from the dark waters.

Its appearance

agitated the bowels of the ocean.

A name began

to be murmured

hidden

in the murmur of the waves

Nothing knew

your body lying on the sand,

near the shore

being brushed by the salty humidity.

Nothing knew

your body

and yet,

it changed the rhythm

of the waves.

Poems NAME and NOTHING KNEW YOUR BODY are two captivating poems that delve into themes of identity, connection, and the power of language. In the poem NAME, the poet skillfully employs vivid imagery and metaphor to explore the multifaceted nature of names. Each stanza unveils a different aspect of the name's significance, from its consumption to its caress, ultimately portraying it as a force that both defines and consumes the self. The poem's rhythmic structure and evocative language draw the reader into a sensory experience, inviting contemplation on the ways in which names shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. The poem NOTHING KNEW YOUR BODY, on the other hand, transports the reader into a realm of cosmic interconnectedness, where the moon's emergence and the ebb and flow of the ocean mirror the transformation of the human body. Through ethereal imagery and lyrical prose, the poem explores the profound impact of a name on the rhythm of existence, weaving together themes of change, memory, and the transcendent power of language. Both poems captivate with their lyrical language and thought-provoking themes, inviting readers to embark on a journey of introspection and exploration. Whether contemplating the significance of names or pondering the interconnectedness of all things, these poems linger in the mind long after the final stanza, leaving a profound impression on the reader.
