The MUNICIPALITY OF TAGGIA officially announces the 31st edition of the OSSI DI SEPPIA Award, considered the most important literary competition in the specific sector of UNPUBLISHED POETRY in Italy.
Participants last edition: 2,425.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Participation, by request of the Municipality of Taggia, continues to be completely FREE.
SECTION A – SINGLE POETRY
Participants must send A SINGLE UNPUBLISHED TEXT, free in theme, choice of meter and number of verses, in a single copy.
SECTION B – COLLECTION OF POEMS
Participants must send a minimum of THREE and a maximum of SEVEN unpublished poems, free in theme, choice of meter and number of lines, in a single copy.
N.B. It is obviously possible to participate in both Sections.
IMPORTANT
Texts published in paper form (single or anthological edition) are considered unpublished, even if provided with an ISBN code. It is important that the texts are not bound by an existing publishing contract.
Texts published online are considered unpublished: blogs, personal or collective literary sites, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Texts AWARDED in other competitions may participate.
SENDING METHOD EXCLUSIVELY ELECTRONIC
Participation is open to any living author of any nationality.
Texts in English, French, Spanish are also accepted, without the obligation of a translation on the facing page, although it is appreciated.
Foreign authors of languages other than those mentioned above are kindly invited to send the text or texts translated into English.
Poetic works must be submitted through the following methods:
in electronic format no later than 2 JANUARY 2025, 12.00 pm, in a SINGLE ATTACHMENT to the following postal address:
The first page of the attachment must include: name, surname, address, landline and/or mobile telephone number, email address if applicable, optional bio-bibliographical sheet and indicate which section(s) you are competing in.
NB Anyone who participates with an artistic name is required to also include their legal name.
In the Subject of the electronic letter (the classic e-mail) report which SECTION(s) you are participating in (you can, obviously, compete in both sections), in order to facilitate the IMMEDIATE forwarding - sending of the texts to the Jury.
NB Exclusively for a simple statistical question, the author who should participate in the Prize in question for the FIRST TIME , is kindly invited to report this in the Subject of the email, for example SECTION B – FIRST TIME.
In the body of the letter, please include your name and surname.
Personal data will be strictly protected by the provisions of the privacy legislation (Regulation 2016/679 EU) and only for the purposes of the event.
The poems will be evaluated by a Jury of undisputed profile [Claudio Damiani, Marina Benedetto and Lamberto Garzia as coordinator of the same (consultation with Giuseppe Conte, Tomaso Kemeny and Stefano Zecchi: examiners of the works in the historic First Edition, Year 1993)], whose judgment is unquestionable and final, who will have the opportunity to read the texts almost simultaneously with the sending by the participant, given that the Secretariat will immediately forward the attachments.
* This method allows for a certain speed in drawing up the various rankings and in respecting the author, who does not have to wait months and months to find out the final outcome of the competition.
THE WORKS OF THE FIRST FOUR AUTHORS CLASSIFIED IN SECTIONS A – B WILL FORM AN ANTHOLOGY WHICH WILL BE PUBLISHED AT THE EXCLUSIVE EXPENSE OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF TAGGIA.
The authors who will be awarded the Grand Jury Prize or the Special Prize or the Special Mention will be entitled to a certificate and/or parchment, which will be delivered to them directly on the day of the official ceremony [confirming their presence] or sent to the email address in PDF – JEPG format, with the “author name” and printable at will in weight), if they are not physically present, since there is no obligation to take part.
The same applies to the first four classified authors of both sections, who, if absent, will receive, by courier, the anthological copies at the home address indicated.

The winning authors (THE FIRST 4 PLACED PER SECTION) with the right to publication, of the last three editions are excluded from participation.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 1 MARCH 2024 at 5.30 pm, at the historic Villa Boselli in Arma di Taggia.
