Poetryzine Magazine presents the selected poems by the Serbian poetess Barbara Novaković
Need
If you are thirst,
I don’t need
water.
If you are hunger,
I don’t need
food.
If you are ice,
I don’t need
fire.
If you are night,
I don’t need
a day.
If you're a tear,
I don’t need
smile.
If you're a wound,
I don’t need
healing.
If you are a wish,
please come true!
If you are love,
just stay you!
Without Without any burden, any memories, any rememberings, any regrets, any questions, without any objections, yelling, sadness, fights, tears, begging, remorse, I'll leave without anything, without anything you will stay. Emptiness Two cups of coffee every morning and I drink it alone. Two plates on the table every day and I’m having my lunch alone. Two pillows on the bed every night and I sleep alone. We are full of ourselves, You and I, That’s what emptiness looks like.
At the bottom
At the bottom of the glass
is wine.
And a smile.
A rambling mouth.
A toast.
And a celebration.
At the bottom of the glass
is a song.
And a soar troat.
Dance.
Trembling knees.
And a spark in the eyes.
At the bottom of the glass
is truth.
And restlessness.
Fear.
Pain.
And tears.
At the bottom of the glass
is everything
but the oblivion...
